Getting started

What is Mira Child Care?

Mira is an app for parents and caregivers to keep a child's medical and daily care organized in one place - medications, appointments, therapies, meals, and daily routines. It's built with families managing complex or special-needs care especially in mind.

What do I need to use Mira?

An Android phone or tablet. Mira is Android-only for now. Day to day, you don't need an internet connection either - it's built offline-first, so your child's record lives on your device.

What happens the first time I add a child?

A short tour walks you through what Mira can do - Home, Schedule, the quick-log button, Care, and sharing - before you enter any information, and you can skip it at any point. Setting up your child only requires a first name; everything else is optional.

Does it cost anything to try?

Mira starts with a 30-day free trial of the complete app. For the full pricing picture, see Is Mira free? on our homepage.

Is this available yet?

Where Mira stands right now, honestly.

Is Mira available on Google Play right now?

Not yet. Mira is on its way to a full public launch on November 20, 2026 - World Children's Day. Until then, this website describes what Mira does and what launch will bring.

Is what this site describes final?

It's close, but not final. Mira has not launched on Google Play yet - we're finishing testing and polishing before the November 20, 2026 launch, so a few details on this site may shift before then.

Can I try Mira before launch?

Not publicly yet. Join the launch waitlist and we'll email you the moment Mira is live.

Is there a newsletter or email tips series?

Not yet. We're keeping our attention on finishing the app before we take on an ongoing commitment like a monthly email. When we're ready to start one, we'll add a clearly separate sign-up here - it will never be added to the launch waitlist automatically, and you'll always be able to opt out. For now, joining the launch waitlist is the one email we're sending.

Will anything change after launch?

The core app described on this page is what launches. A few features that are already built - like sharing a child's record with family - are switched off at launch while we complete a required privacy review, and arrive in a later update. See Sharing with family and caregivers below.

Adding your child

Setting up a child's profile.

What information do I need to add my child?

Just a first name. Birthday, gender, blood type, and a primary contact are all optional, and you can add or edit them any time.

Can I add more than one child?

Yes. Each child gets their own separate record. Adding a second or third child skips the introductory tour, since you've already seen it.

What are the "categories" I'm asked to choose during setup?

They're the parts of care you actually want to track for this child - medications, therapy, school, and more. Mira uses your choices to tailor what shows up, so you're not looking at sections that don't apply.

Can I change what I'm tracking later?

Yes, any time, from Settings.

Medications & doses

Where to add a medication, how to log that you gave a dose, and where the history goes.

How do I add a medication?

In the app, go to Care, then Medications, and add it once - name, dose, and schedule. Mira handles the reminders from there.

How do I log that I gave a dose?

When a dose is due, it shows up on Home and on Schedule with a Confirm button. Tapping it logs the exact time - no typing required.

What happens if a dose is late or missed?

An overdue dose is marked clearly on Home, so it doesn't quietly slip through.

Can I see the full history of doses given?

Yes. Every confirmed dose is saved automatically, and you can look back at any time.

Appointments, therapies & the medical record

The Care tab holds the whole picture, not just medications.

Where do I track appointments and therapy sessions?

In the Care tab. It holds your child's whole medical record - medications, conditions, therapy sessions (including ones that repeat on a schedule), documents, and more, organized by category.

How do I record something that happened, like a symptom, a reaction, or a fall?

Use "Log Medical Event." It takes under a minute and keeps a searchable record instead of relying on memory.

Can Mira help me get ready for a doctor's visit?

Yes. Visit Prep lets you jot down questions and notes ahead of an appointment, so nothing gets forgotten in the room.

Can I build a report to bring to the doctor?

Yes. A few taps generates a clear, organized doctor report from your child's actual record - no retyping weeks of details from memory in the waiting room. See a sample report on our homepage.

Documents & scanning

Storing and scanning paperwork.

Can I store documents like insurance cards or referral letters?

Yes. Documents live in the Care tab, and you can organize them into folders.

Can I scan a document or a medication box instead of typing everything in?

Not yet. Document and medicine-box scanning is built but switched off at launch, so today you type it in by hand. When it is switched on, in a later update, pointing your camera at it will read the text for you.

Is that scanning feature private?

Documents you store are encrypted on your device. When scanning is switched on, reading the text off a scan will use a third-party AI company - we will name that company and ask for your permission on its own screen before it is used. Nothing is sent anywhere today, because the feature is not switched on yet.

Sharing with family & caregivers

Built and working, switched off at launch - read this one carefully.

Can I share my child's record with my spouse, a grandparent, or a nanny?

Not at launch. Family sharing is built and working, but it is switched off while we complete a privacy review for sharing a child's record between adults. It will arrive in a later update: you will invite someone with a simple code and choose their role.

What roles will be available once family sharing is on?

Three: a Parent with full access, a Caregiver who can log daily care, and a Read-only member who can see the record but not change it. You'll be able to remove anyone at any time.

What about emergency alerts?

Emergency alerts are part of the same family-sharing system: also built, also switched off at launch, and arriving in the same later update.

Accounts & signing in

You don't need one to get started.

Do I need an account to use Mira?

No, not for the core app - your child's information stays on your device without one. An account is for optional extras like cloud backup and, once it's turned on, family sharing.

How do I sign in or create an account?

From Settings in the app, or from this website's Sign in page.

I'm having trouble signing in. What do I do?

Try the Sign in page on this website first. If that doesn't get you back in, email us at support@mirachildcare.com and we'll help directly.

How do I delete my account or my data?

See our homepage FAQ or the account deletion page for exact steps.

Data, privacy & safety

The short version lives here; the full version is one click away.

Is my child's data safe?

We treat it as the most sensitive data there is. For the full, honest picture of how Mira handles your family's data, see our Privacy Policy.

Does Mira use AI, and what does that mean for my child's data?

Not today. A few features we are building - like reading text off a scanned document - will use a third-party AI company. Nothing is sent anywhere until that feature is switched on, and you will be asked and will need to say yes first.

Does Mira give medical advice?

No. See our homepage FAQ for the full answer.

Still stuck?

This page won't cover everything. Two more places to look, and one way to reach an actual person.

  • In the app Settings, then Help & Feedback, has "Guides & training" for a short walkthrough of any part of Mira, plus Report a problem and Suggest a feature.
  • On this site Our homepage FAQ covers the most common questions about pricing, privacy, and how Mira works.
